Finished Fabric Basket
It is 20 inches or 50cm in diameter. It is pretty big and as I suspected it does not stand up on its own despite all the pieces of plastic milk bottle I used. It has lots and lots but they are all short so this is why it won't stand up. It doesn't need to anyway as once it is full it stays upright.
These are what I used to stiffen it.
This was girls dress ups before...
and girls dress ups after
Boys dress ups before....
and after.
Now I have a spare drawer!
I think it turned out ok but I will make a smaller one next time.

Love, love, LOVE it! I think the size is perfect, another few months & it will be bursting at the seams! Well done

ReplyDeleteDon't look now but someone has stolen your message. And your name.
DeleteAhhh, I'm blaming apple device compatibility issues.
DeleteBTW I love your use of the milk bottles as 'bones' - I use cut up plastic supermarket meat trays - but you have to wash them really well (smelly) and they have ripples and bumps in them. I'll have to buy bottled milk; cartons are just not helpful in these circumstances :0)
Great fabric basket. I have just made my first fabric bucket/container too and I wish I had thought of using milk bottle for support. Next time.
ReplyDeletetotally need to make some of these.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute baskets and perfect for the kids rooms!! Thanks for sharing.

Those are great! Even though they don't stand on their own, they're still fantastic, and will work really well for dress up storage!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing at Needle and Thread Thursday!
